That said, I love the open source process, even if it's difficult if you're the only person directly working on something for a long time. The CPU savings alone are worth it to me. I'm not a UX person, I don't even like Javascript, but I've been working on it for hours every day for weeks and plan to keep doing so indefinitely, even if just for myself, because there's no real fully-featured replacement, and loading one electron web-wrapper is a lot better for me than having to load 5-6, each of which are at least 200MB each. I dogfood each build and have already implemented CSS injection, plan to implement other "Rambox Pro" features ASAP. Yesterday's pro/closed source unannouncement still came as a surprise. I'm not going to claim it's amazing or the next big thing, it's mostly just something I was doing for myself until mid-July, when upstream made it really seem like something weird was going on and that no further significant changes would be made or accepted.
